God Delivers Brownies?

In an effort to teach our children Gods word, we tend to mention the daily miracles that happen all around us every day. You can’t help but see God everywhere if you just look for Him.

I was having dinner with my kids last night, and my 13 year old says, “Mom, you know what sounds really good right now? Brownies. Doesn’t brownies sound good? Will you bake some brownies tonight?”

After dinner each night I go out to milk the cows, baking brownies isn’t really on my list of priorities in the evening after dinner. I denied his request and went about finishing my dinner.

My daughter, who has been working with a friend of ours helping her with some storage projects around her house, walks in the house not even ten minutes after this conversation with Mark. Hailey walks in the door holding some boxes from a local pizza restaurant. She said our friend wanted to bless the kids so she sent home two boxes of brownies. Everyone at the table couldn’t believe it.

I told Mark, “God likes you best, He’s never sent ME brownies!” We were all laughing as Mark quickly dove into those gooey, unexpected treats.

It’s important to us that we teach our children that God does care about the little things. Not only does God take care of our needs, He cares about our wants. We don’t always get what we want but God does like to bless us.

What unexpected blessings came your way today? How has God been showing off in your life? If you look for Him you can’t help but see the endless ways He’s taking care of you. He loves you, and sometimes he just might send you brownies to show it.
